Yangshuo climbing festival attracts climbers home and abroad

The 2018 Yangshuo Climbing Festival concluded on Sunday in Yangshuo County in Guilin, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, featuring 82 rock climbers both at home and abroad during the three-day event.

Those rock climbers from Britain, Poland, Russia, Singapore, the United States and China competed in both red-point and bouldering events.

The red-point competition venue was set up in Mountain Jiuping, Yueliang and Leipi rock field with a total of 50 routes. Liu Jia from China won the championship in the red-point competition with 15 routes completed.

Against the wall of 23 meters in length and 4.5 meters in height, Liu Yongcheng from China and Przybysz Aleksandra from Poland won their respective men's and women's bouldering titles.

Since the first climbing festival was held in Yangshuo in 2008, the county has successfully organized 10 sessions of the festival, and it has become the largest climbing festival in China. Yangshuo is a unique place nestled among the majestic karst pinnacles of south China that boasts countless crags suitable for rock climbing.

There are more than 1,000 climbing routes and over 60 rock fields in Yangshuo County, accounting for one-third of the routes in China and attracting some 300 rock climbing lovers from all over the world to stay in Yangshuo all year round.
