China Infographic: Changes to state visit welcome ceremony

Slight changes have been introduced to the welcoming ceremony for state visits to China.

President Sooronbay Jeenbekov of Kyrgyzstan was the first to experience the changes at the start of his state visit on Wednesday.

They include a new formation of female soldiers, an increase in the Honor Guard and modifications to the military band’s costumes.

Others concern the number of trumpeters and drummers, the instruments played by the military band and the arrival routes for visiting guests.
