Each year, there comes a time when comic fans from around the world set their sights on one city alone. From Thursday to Sunday, people gather at the San Diego International Comic-Con (SDCC) to celebrate comic books, sci-fi, fantasy, and all other things geek. /VCG Photo
No matter what your fandom is, you will feel at home at the convention. One of the biggest aspects of the Con is the cosplay, with people dressing up in the costumes of their favorite comic characters, attire they wouldn’t dare wear in everyday life. /VCG Photo
This year marks the 49th year of the show since it started in 1970, making it the country’s longest continuous comics and popular arts convention. /VCG Photo
By December 2017, tickets for this year’s SDCC were already sold out. With attendance topping 130,000 in recent years, the event has grown to include satellite locations, including local hotels and outdoor parks. /VCG Photo
