The Kazan Arena will be the first stadium to see Group C action when France takes on Australia on June 16th. The 45,000 capacity ground has been the home of Russian Premier League club Rubin Kazan since being built in 2013.
With an average attendance of some 10,000 during the domestic season, the venue is expected to be packed to the rafters when it welcomes the world's football fans.
Kazan is the capital and the largest city of the republic of Tatarstan and the sixth most popular city in Russia. It considers itself the sports capital of Russia and the Kazan arena is one of the most impressive ones with stylish modern sporting facilities.

The stadium has already been used for the 25th World Aquatics Championships when the football pitch was replaced by two swimming pools. The real standout feature of the Kazan Arena, however, is the side of the stadium which is the home to the world’s biggest outdoor high definition screen covering 4,000 square meters.
The Kazan Arena will host six matches including four first round games, a round of sixteen matches and the second quarter final.
