Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday congratulated Indonesian President Joko Widodo on being re-elected as president for a second term in the last month's elections.
In a congratulatory message, Xi pointed out that both China and Indonesia are major developing countries with broad common interests in bilateral, regional and multilateral affairs.
Xi highly appreciated the achievements made in Belt and Road cooperation, adding that both sides have further developed bilateral ties and enhanced pragmatic cooperation in multiple areas.
Xi said that China attaches high importance to advancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Indonesia and stands ready to make joint efforts to push forward cooperation between the two countries in various fields to a new stage and bring benefits to the two countries and the two peoples.
