Iron ore mine blast in NE China kills 11

At least 11 people were killed and nine were injured in an explosion that took place at an iron ore mine in Benxi City, northeast China’s Liaoning Province.
Twenty-five others are still trapped underground. Local rescuers have been able to make contact with some of them.
The accident occurred at 4:10 p.m. BJT (0810 GMT) on Tuesday at an iron ore mine, which belongs to  Huamei Group.
Early reports showed that an explosive-laden vehicle, also belonging to the company group, blew up near the mine pit.
All the injured have been sent to the hospital. Rescue work is underway.
