CBA defending champion Liaoning Flying Leopards beat Fujian Sturgeons 106-102 in Game 3 of their quarter-final series to reach the last four on Sunday.
The champs won the first two at home and Guo Ailun scored a game-high 32 points to make sure that streak continued against regular season domestic MVP Wang Zhelin. Wang was a target of Liaoning's defense throughout the game, yet he was still able to score a team-high 29 points and grab 13 rebounds.
Three and a half minutes into the second quarter, Brandon Bass dunked to put the Flying Leopards in the lead for the first time in the game. And Guo made it 54-48 at the halftime buzzer for Liaoning. After the break, Andrew Nicholson's three gave Fujian a 70-69 edge. But that lead was gone in the fourth quarter, with Guo leading Liaoning on a 6-0 run. And the Flying Leopards hung on to sweep the series 3-0.
