The weather window of the northern slope of Mount Qomolangma has come. 123 climbers, including 12 Chinese mountaineers, 21 Chinese guides, 47 foreign mountaineers and 43 Sherpa guides successfully conquered Mount Qomolangma on Friday.
The Chinese guides were the first to summit. They started at 0:17 in the morning from the Advance camp at an altitude of 8,300 meters. The earliest climber reached the summit at around 8:30.
According to China Tibet Mountaineering Association, 142 foreign mountaineers, 12 Chinese mountaineers and 9 climbing teams have been issued mountaineering license in spring 2019.
The region has more snowfall this year than in previous years, thus the weather window has come later. After the May 23, there will be multiple weather windows for the remaining teams to summit.
