The world's tech giant Facebook Inc. acknowledged Wednesday that it has suffered an outage, affecting users around the globe, with the cause unidentified.
The outage, also concerning the other apps of the Facebook family including Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp, started around Wednesday afternoon. Users reported problems that they can neither access to the website, nor post on it.
The company turned to Twitter to update its condition.

"We're aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps. We're working to resolve the issue as soon as possible," said Facebook at 1:49 p.m. ET (1749 GMT).
But it denied earlier rumors online that the outages were caused by a distributed denial-of-service (DDos) attack, saying "We're focused on working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, but can confirm that the issue is not related to a DDoS attack."
According to downdetecter.com, a site for outage tracking, multiple places in the U.S. and Europe were mostly affected.
