Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has apologized for his unsavory public bust-up with teammate Sergio Reguilon after video footage emerged of him petulantly kicking a ball at the youngster during a heated training session.

The 21-year-old Reguilon, who made his debut in Real Madrid's 1-0 loss to CSKA Moscow earlier this month, appeared to catch Ramos on the face in a lighthearted training drill but the Spanish veteran reacted angrily by lashing out at the young left-back on two separate occasions.

Ramos attempted to play down the incident after the footage was published by Spanish media outlet AS. He accepted tempers were allowed to boil over in the heated atmosphere, and offered an apology for his actions.

"Although it may not seem like it, they are quite common situations, but it is not an excuse, my reaction should not have been that," Ramos wrote on Twitter, alongside a picture of several Real players posing together.

"We always give everything, right, Regui? In the end the team wins together! Let's put an end to this story, it's all about tomorrow's game," he added.

Eager to make peace, Reguilon replied to Ramos' comment through his own tweet: "I always support my team and my captain. Let's go after the victory tomorrow!"
