Since the Syria civil war began in 2011, an estimated 400,000 people have been killed, according to the UN Envoy for Syria. By February 2018, the United Nations Refugee Agency estimates that at least 5.5 million Syrians have fled the country and 6.1 million people have been displaced internally.
