The 2019 NFL Draft started on Thursday in Nashville, Tennessee to seek new blood for the league. 32 players were selected in the first round and CGTN has a short introduction for the top 10.

No.1 pick: Kyler Murray, quarterback, University of Oklahoma

The Arizona Cardinals selected Murray with the first pick in the first round, making Murray the first player in U.S. history who was chosen by both the NFL and the MLB in the first round. Meanwhile, his university, OU, also became the first university that had two No.1 picks overall and a Heisman Trophy winning football player in two consecutive years thanks to Murray and Baker Mayfield of the Cleveland Browns.

No.2 pick: Nick Bosa, defensive end, Ohio State University

The San Francisco 49ers selected Nick Bosa with the second pick in the first round. Nick is the younger brother of Joey Bosa, a defensive end for the Los Angeles Chargers and the son of John Bosa, who was also a football player. Nick being selected made the Bosa family the second family after the Mannings to see three first-round players get selected in the NFL draft.

No.3 pick: Quinnen Williams, defensive end, University of Alabama

The New York Jets selected Williams with the third pick in the first round, making probably the safest choice. Williams has the best draft ratings among all rookies and ranked No.8 for the Heisman Trophy. Though he has an incredible speed that helped him finish the 40-yard dash in just 4.83 seconds - the fourth fastest of players over 300 pounds (about 136 kilograms) - he is also a smart player who can often tell the opponent's intention once they are set.

No.4 pick: Clelin Ferrell, defensive end, Clemson University

The Oakland Raiders selected Ferrell with the fourth pick in the first round. Like usual, the Raiders again surprised their fans with their drafting choice; instead of choosing the better rated Josh Allen, the team used their pick on Ferrell, who was expected by many to be selected with the 15th or 16th pick. Perhaps, head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock saw some hidden talent in him.

No.5 pick:, Devin White, linebacker, Louisiana State University

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected White with the fifth pick in the first round, meeting the team's need for a linebacker by picking the best of the 2019 draft. White can finish 40 yards in 4.42 seconds and he is fast enough to reach anywhere on the field to aid the defense. Many expect him to be as much of a success as Roquan Smith of the Chicago Bears.

No.6 pick: Daniel Jones, quarterback, Duke University

The New York Giants selected Jones with the sixth pick in the first round. Instead of choosing Dwayne Haskins, the Giants bet on Jones, who shared the same coach David Cutcliffe with Payton and Eli Manning at Duke. In his last year in college, Jones had 2,674 yards, 22 touchdowns and nine interceptions in passing.

No.7 pick: Josh Allen, linebacker, University of Kentucky

The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Allen with the seventh pick in the first round. Allen is seen by many as the second-best player on the defensive end in this year's draft. He had an astonishing season in 2018 by achieving 88 tackles including 21.5 losses and 17 sacks.

No.8 pick: T. J. Hockenson, tight end, University of Iowa

The Detroit Lions selected Hockenson with the eighth pick in the first round. He received the John Mackey Award in 2018, which usually goes to the top tight end of the year. Based on the talents he has shown, some saw Hockenson as the next Rob Gronkowski while some considered him to be the next Travis Kelce.

No.9 pick: Ed Oliver, defensive tackle, University of Houston

The Buffalo Bills selected Oliver with the ninth pick in the first round. Oliver can match Williams in every sector except for his shorter wingspan. He was born with remarkable explosiveness and quick footwork but it still remains to be seen whether Oliver will become the next Aaron Donald.

No.10 pick: Devin Bush Jr., linebacker, University of Michigan

The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Bush Jr. with the tenth pick in the first round. In order to get this pick, the Steelers sent their No.20, No.52 and a third-rounder in 2020 to the Denver Broncos. Having lost multiple key players in the offseason, Pittsburgh will need Bush Jr. to lead the team's defense.
