Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday said China is committed to the all-round friendly cooperation with Kyrgyzstan while meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart Sooronbay Jeenbekov, who is in Beijing after attending the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF), which closed on Saturday in the Chinese capital.
Hailing steady and healthy bilateral ties, Xi said he appreciates the Kyrgyz president's commitment to developing friendship with China.
Noting that Kyrgyzstan was one of the first countries to support and participate in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), Xi said both countries should enhance synergy in development strategies to boost trade, economy and cultural exchanges.
President Xi also stressed the importance of comprehensively improving security cooperation to fight the "three evil forces" of terrorism, extremism and separatism and organized crime across the border.
China fully supports Kyrgyzstan in hosting Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit this year, Xi said.
For his part, Jeenbekov said the outcomes from this year's BRF bear historic significance, as President Xi has told the international society about Chinese proposals to promoting world peace and development.
Jeenbekov said China is Kyrgyzstan's firm and reliable neighbor and strategic partner, and thanked China for its precious support.
Kyrgyzstan stands ready to advance cooperation with China in the areas of trade and infrastructure construction, and jointly combat the "three evil forces," said Jeenbekov.
