The wreck of a German submarine from World War One, which ran aground in July 1917, has resurfaced on a French beach. The shipwreck, usually only barely visible, came in full sight as a result of strong winds and partial erosion of the beach. In Wissant, more than a hundred meters from the dunes, the metal frame rests on a stretch of fine sand.
