President Xi Jinping has expressed China's desire to join with international partners in steering the world economy on a new journey.
The president made his remarks on his arrival in Argentina on Thursday for the G20 summit and a state visit.
Specifically, Xi said China is willing to work with all parties including Argentina to uphold the spirit of partnership, stick together like passengers in the same boat and steer the giant ship of the global economy on a new voyage from the shore of the La Plata River to the vast ocean.
Xi pointed out that China and Argentina are good friends and partners who support each other in their respective development paths.
The two sides will seek to deepen friendly cooperation and strengthen coordination and collaboration in international and regional affairs, Xi said.
The Chinese president added that he is looking forward to holding talks with President Mauricio Macri and jointly leading China-Argentina's comprehensive strategic partnership into a new era.
Xi said it was of great significance for Argentina to become the first South American country to hold the G20 summit, which is this year marking its 10th anniversary.
During the summit, global leaders are expected to tackle escalating trade tension, rising protectionism, and unilateralism.
Argentina is the second leg of Xi's Europe and Latin America tour, which will also take him to Panama and Portugal.
