The Chinese Super League's newly promoted team Dalian Yifang grabbed the team's first victory at home in the ninth round of the 2018-19 CSL on Saturday after beating the defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande 3-0.
Dalian Yifang was seeking its first win of the season in their first season in the CSL, while their opponent, Guangzhou Evergrande, have won seven consecutive CSL titles in the past seasons. Guangzhou also have two foreign imports Alan and Ricardo Goulart this season, however both were absent as Alan is banned for eight matches and Goulart is injured.
It's also a game of teacher versus student, as Dalian's Bernd Schuster once coached Evergrande's Fabio Cannavaro at Real Madrid.
Dalian Yifang's 30-year-old striker Nyasha Mushekwi broke the deadlock in the 24th minute thanks to an assist from Nicolas Gaitan.

Before the end of the first half, Yannick Carrasco scored from the penalty spot to increase the gap to 2-0.
Carrasco burst through Evergrande's defense in the 87th minute, but had his shot blocked by goalkeeper Zeng Cheng. However, Wang Jinxian caught the rebound, making Dalian Yifang's first CSL win a spectacular 3-0.
Elsewhere on Saturday, the visiting Beijing Guoan beat Shanghai SIPG 2-1, Chongqing Lifan lost to Tianjin Quanjian 0-1, Guangzhou R&F smashed Shanghai Greenland 4-2 at home, and Henan Jianye beat Hebei China Fortune 1-0.
