A Lancang-Mekong Cultural Exchange Youth Camp was launched in Myanmar's northern city of Mandalay Monday with the aim of enhancing cooperation between cultural groups and youth artists from six Lancang-Mekong countries.
The six Lancang-Mekong countries are China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand.
The Lancang-Mekong Cultural Exchange Youth Camp was opened by U Aung Ko, Myanmar Minister of Religious Affairs and Culture. Chinese Ambassador Hong Liang was present at the ceremony.

The four-day activities of the youth camp cover sightseeing tour by cruising the Ayeyawaddy River, country paper reading on "Traditional Culture of Lancang-Mekong Region," making local handicrafts, composing songs, choreography, city tour around Mandalay's cultural heritage sites, visit to the Mandalay National University of Arts and Culture, and planting memorable trees.
Besides, performances and display of arts and crafts of the regional and participating countries will also be included.
The cooperation between Lancang-Mekong countries has been strengthened in recent years, but not only in terms of cultural exchange.

An agreement on projects of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) Special Fund for Myanmar, for example, was signed last year.
The Fund is to be applied by eight Myanmar ministries to implement 19 projects.
The Fund, initiated by China during the first LMC Leaders' meeting in Sanya of China's southern Hainan Province in March 2016, is aimed at supporting the small and medium-sized cooperation projects put forward by the six Lancang-Mekong countries.
