At least 10 people were killed and nine injured Thursday after a passenger bus skidded off a mountainous road and fell into a deep ravine in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand, according to local media.

There were 25 people aboard the bus.

Local administration and police have reached the spot. The state government has directed helicopters be made available to bring the injured to a nearby hospital.
