London police opened fire after a car deliberately rammed the official vehicle of the Ukrainian ambassador to the UK on Saturday, the Ukrainian Embassy confirmed in a statement.
The incident took place at around 10 a.m. local time when the car, parked in front of the embassy's building, hit the ambassador's vehicle.

"The police were called immediately, and the suspect's vehicle was blocked up. Nevertheless, despite the police actions, the attacker hit the Ambassador's car again. In response, the police were forced to open fire on the perpetrator's vehicle," the statement said.
The suspect was arrested by police and an investigation into the motive of the attack is underway.
No one from the embassy was injured.
