The cooperation in recent years between China and the Philippines has proven that good neighborliness is the only choice that satisfies the interest of both countries and their people, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said on Tuesday.
During a regular press briefing by China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Geng pointed out that China has noticed the unprecedented positive review on the improved China-Philippine ties given by Duterte.
In Monday's state of the nation address, the Philippine president spoke highly of the collaboration with China in combating transnational crimes and drugs.

Geng said security cooperation is a major priority for both countries, and China strongly supports President Duterte in cracking down on drugs, fighting terrorism and transnational crimes.
Duterte also stressed that the Philippines will continue engaging China through bilateral and multilateral platforms to address its disputes with China in the South China Sea.
On the same topic, Geng echoed that China is willing to work with the Philippines to manage their differences properly and focus more on pragmatic cooperation, in order to safeguard the peace and stability in the region.
