Chinese weather authorities said on Saturday that, due to the heavy rainfall, southern parts of the country will remain under a "blue" alert, the least-severe in the four-tier system.
A village in southwest China’s Guizhou Province has almost been engulfed by flood caused by the rain, with houses left underwater and people stranded.
Rescue work and operations are going non-stop. Li Yong, one of the relief personnel at the scene, said: "There were more than ten villagers, the elderly and children. We fixed the boat with ropes, and picked them up."

Many residents are still coping with the aftermath. "The flood started to rise around 2:30 this morning. Water came into the house after I woke up."
"My father-in-law is more than 60 years old. He said he had never seen a flood as big as this."
Despite nobody being injured, the aftermath has left a scene of chaos and destruction.
Miles away in south China's Fujian Province, streets have turned into waterways, and vehicles are waiting to be pulled out.

A local police officer Ouyang Zhen said, "The rain poured down since 00:30 in the morning. Water levels reached above 30 centimeters. The whole road is submerged."
And it's not just houses and streets, crops and farmland have also suffered a lot.
Rain caused a landslide in Guizhou Province's Xishui county, cutting off electricity and affecting traffic and clean drinking water supply for about 100 households.
The situation could be even more serious as regions in southwest China’s Guizhou Province currently under the blue alert are expecting another downpour.
