Chinese President Xi Jinping said the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) should play a bigger role in security and counter-terrorism during a meeting with senior security officials from SCO member countries in Beijing. Xi said the region still faces challenges, including drug smuggling and organized crime. He said members should build trust, strengthen communication and promote the resolution of international issues through diplomacy.
