Manchester United has announced on Tuesday morning that they had decided to dispense with Jose Mourinho's services, just 48 hours after a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League.

With Mourinho now gone, Jesse Lingard and Eric Bailly have become the first two Manchester United players to express their thanks to the Portuguese in public following his departure.
Lingard broke the United players' silence on Wednesday evening when he posted a brief message on his Twitter account. The message read, "thank you for the memories and the wisdom."

Meanwhile, Eric Bailly also took to Twitter with a similar message of support after Lingard's message, "Whatever they may say, I will always be thankful to the person who gave me the chance to make my debut at Old Trafford. Thank you for what you have taught me. Good luck, coach."

However, it seems that many United fans cannot wait for a change on the touchline.
"Probably Pochettino is the man for the job," said John Valentine, a Manchester United fan, “Will he come? It's not just him, and there are a few managers out there hopefully. We need to get it right quick because we can't keep sacking managers."
"It's become toxic right now, the atmosphere, we are not getting anywhere, we lost against Liverpool, and we are 19 points behind. I think we needed a huge change," said Nabeel Ali, a fan of Red Devils.
