We continue with our special series Beyond the Baseline, and this time CGTN Sports Scene spoke with the current World No.2 and 2018 Australian Open champion, Caroline Wozniacki. The tennis ace from Denmark talked about her experience winning her first Grand Slam title at the start of the year, and what career she would be in if she was not playing tennis.
After chasing her elusive Grand Slam title over the past few years, Wozniacki broke her "major" jinx at this year's Australian Open where she defeated Simona Halep to win her maiden Grand Slam title.
Wozniacki said about her coveted crown, “Of course, it was a huge relief for me. Having done everything else in tennis to finally get my first Grand Slam, it was a huge achievement and relief as well.”

In order to cap of a fabulous season Wozniacki has come to China to play the Wuhan Open in central China's Hubei Province and then the China Open in Beijing.
“We are ready to go on vacation after a fairly long season, but at the same time we have two very big tournaments here and Singapore. So I am trying to do my best and finish off the year strongly,” she added.
Her life has often come under media spotlight but she seems to be unfazed about that.
“I think you learn with experience and I am very happy both off and on the court now. It's a positive thing that people are interested in your life and that means you are doing something well and doing something right.”

“You know I am just focused on myself and my life. I know what's going on and that's kind of the most important thing.”
Born into a family of sports enthusiasts, Wozniacki believes that sports brings discipline to one's life. However, she had other dreams if she hadn't become a tennis player.
“It was always a dream for me to study at the Copenhagen Business School. They have an international business course that I always wanted to study. Another one was trying to be an actress,” Wozniacki mentioned.
The Dane speaks 8 different languages and informed us, “One day when I have kids, I may become a language teacher for them.”
