World Bank President Jim Yong Kim addressed the opening ceremony of the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai on Monday. Kim was impressed by China's poverty alleviation efforts. He gave out an example that in just five years, the poverty rate of Guizhou, one of China's poorest provinces, dropped from 30 percent in 2013 to eight percent in 2018, thanks to the rapid development of e-commerce.
