There are indeed some interesting digital experiences at the second Digital China Summit in Fuzhou City, southeast China's Fujian Province. After all, many companies hope to attract more visitors through this kind of interactive experience.
According to a recent white paper, China's digital economy accounted for one-third of its GDP in 2018, but many industry insiders say there are still a lot of challenges ahead. What are they? Presidents of three leading digital companies in China have shared with CGTN some of their concerns.
Core technology on chips, software
Dawning Information Company is a leading enterprise in the field of high-performance computing, server, storage, cloud computing and big data.
Its President Li Jun told CGTN that one of the major hurdles for China's digital economic growth is the core technology, which includes high-end software, chips, and some chip equipment.

"In order to boost this, Chinese companies not only need to invest more in their own research and development but also seek global collaboration. I think this is a more objective and pragmatic approach," he said.
Shortage of AI talents
Iflytek is a key software enterprise dedicated to the research of intelligent speech and language technologies.
Its executive President Chen Tao told CGTN that one of their top challenges is the shortage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) talents, and most importantly, some changes in higher education are needed.

Data protection key for digital economy
Digital China Group Co., Ltd. offers integrated cloud services, including cloud management, cloud computing resources and scenario-based solutions for cloud architecture and security of cloud-based systems.
Its Chairman and President Guo Wei told CGTN that data security actually contains two perspectives. One is data governance, namely who owns the data and how to protect their privacy. The other is how to prevent the data from being stolen or hacked.
