10 trapped after avalanche hit town in NW China's Xinjiang

Ten people were trapped after an avalanche hit a mountainous area on Monday in Changji City of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. According to reports from those trapped via their satellite phone, eight men and two women were stranded by the avalanche, of whom one person is injured, and another in weak condition. At present, the trapped people can still be reached through their GPS device and satellite phones.  Land rescue forces will spend two days rescuing them. However, the situation is dire as their remaining provisions can only support them for one day. Helicopters and a rescue team have been sent to the site.
