China welcomed the Year of the Pig with one of its favorite pastimes: Watching the Spring Festival Gala on TV. The four-hour show broadcast on Monday night drew over one billion viewers. This year's gala featured 32 programs, including song and dance numbers, cross talks and short sketches, acrobatics, magic, Chinese opera, and other innovative performances, including a water ballet.
