Bayern Munich's new coach Niko Kovac made a rapid return to his previous grounds, leading the Bundesliga champions against Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Super Cup.
Frankfurt beat Bayern to claim the German Cup in May, three months later, the Bavarians were conducted by the coach of the Eagles at the time.
Munich are the favorites to win the competition for a third season in succession, with the match played at Eintracht's Commerzbank-Arena.
In the 21st minute, Joshua Kimmich's cross was met by Robert Lewandowski, and the Polish superstar made it 1-0 for Bayern.

Their second came five minutes later, courtesy of another Lewandowski header, and Frederik Ronnow already looked defeated.

Kingsley Coman made it 4-0 in the 63rd minute, and then leaped over his defender to set up Thiago Alcantara, who hammered in their fifth.
It ended 5-0, an absolute pounding from Bayern Munich, who won the Super Cup for the third straight year, and a record seventh time overall.
