Governments across Asia have been working to restrict the use of tobacco. Bhutan in Southeast Asia is the only country that completely bans the sale and production of tobacco and products in the world. In China, about twenty cities have forbidden smoking in many public places. Japan approved its first national law in July, banning smoking inside some public facilities. In Malaysia, people who smoke in areas such as schools and government offices can be fined or jailed.
