The Dallas Mavericks announced that Chinese forward Ding Yanyuhang underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee which was performed by Dr. Daniel Worrel at the Carrell Clinic in Dallas.
Ding said he was appreciative of all the support the Mavericks and their G League affiliate the Texas Legends have given him this season. He added that he is getting great medical treatment in Dallas, and looks forward to a successful rehab process, hoping to get back on the court in the near future.
Mavericks' general manager Donnie Nelson stressed that Ding's successful return to the court is the number one goal for all of them, and Ding will start rehab immediately to get him back in the game as soon as possible.

Ding will rehabilitate his knee at Baylor Physical Therapy in Frisco, Texas in conjunction with the Texas Legends. Team doctors assessed that Ding needed two months for treatment and rehab before they can formulate the next stage of his training and competition plan.
Ding wrote on his social media that, "I just accepted a little knee surgery, and it was successful, please don't worry. Thanks Mavericks and Legends for their help during this period, it let me focus on find back the real me. For fighting for the FIBA World Cup next year, chasing my proper dream or going back to Shandong to win the CBA champions with my team pals… I have to be stronger and cautious at any time. Ding was named the Chinese Basketball Association All-Star Game Most Valuable Player in 2017. He was also named the CBA's regular season Domestic Most Valuable Player in 2017 and 2018. In 2017, Ding played with the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Summer League. In July of this year, Ding signed a contract with the Mavericks and was waived in October then added to the Texas Legends roster.
