Both Steve Smith and David Warner are eligible to return to the Australian national side following the completion of a 12-month ban for ball tampering. Smith is likely to be in action for Rajasthan Royals, along with England's Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler, on Monday against Delhi Capitals.
The big-bucks Indian Premier League begins on Saturday with disgraced Australian duo Steve Smith and David Warner back in action and looking to get some runs under their belts before the World Cup.
You may remember, back in March 2018, Smith, Warner and Cameron Bankcroft were found guilty of rubbing sandpaper onto the surface of the ball during the third test of their tour of South Africa. Bankcroft was given a shorter ban on the grounds of just following directions from senior members of the squad and returned to action in December. Smith was stripped of the captaincy, which was given to Arron Finch who has said it will be hard for both players to earn a spot in the squad for the world cup in England this May with the Aussie's one-day team experiencing a resurgence.
Both played in the recent Bangladesh Premier League but both soon bowed out because of elbow injuries, and now they are keen to get noticed again by Australia's selectors.
