China bags all titles at 2nd USIP World Service Pistol Championship

As the second International Police Sports Union (USIP) World Service Pistol Championship came to an end Monday in south China's Guangdong Province, Team China swept all the titles, both in individual and team competitions.

China sent two teams, Team 1 and Team 2, for the two separate tournaments for USIP and non-USIP members.

After five days of competition against delegations from over 60 countries and regions, Team 1 won the men's team event, women's team event and ranked No.1 on the leaderboard. Belarus and Hungary came next as respectively No.2 and No.3. Team 2 also bagged wins in both team and individual events.

In the men's individual tournament, Team 1's Fang Gang and Cai Mingzhe brought home the champion and the runner-up. In the women's individual competition, China's Gao Mengni and Jin Xinquan took the top two honors. Born in 1993, Gao was the youngest athlete at the event.She said she prepared by shooting at least 400-500 bullets every day.

"Holding the competition has been a great opportunity for Chinese police to exchange knowledge and experience with police around the world. Chinese police will further strengthen their capacity in tackling crime and protecting public property," said Li Chunsheng, vice governor of Guangdong.

"The competition could not have been held successfully without the effort and passion of the Guangdong's organizing committee. All delegations have felt the hospitality and warmth of Guangdong's people, which made them feel at home here," said Sandro Dirckx, secretary general of the USIP.
