Nine workers were killed and four others injured on Tuesday in a factory fire in Incheon, west of capital Seoul, S. Korea, Yonhap reported, citing authorities.

The fire occurred at 3:43 p.m. local time at an electronics goods factory production line that reportedly handles hazardous materials, and was put out at 5:51 p.m.

Several workers died when they jumped out of the building to escape the flames before firefighters arrived.

It is expected that the number of victims will rise as the investigation continues.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
