China and the U.S. will hold vice-ministerial level negotiations on trade from January 7 to 8, said China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) on Friday.
A working team led by Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Jeffrey Gerrish will come to China to have positive and constructive discussions with Chinese counterparts, MOFCOM said in a statement on its website.
This will be the first in-person talks since Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump agreed to a 90-day truce in the trade war last month.
The two sides will discuss how to implement the consensus reached by Xi and Trump on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Argentina.
