The Syrian army on Friday captured the Nasib border crossing, the only operative border crossing with Jordan, following a two-week-long battle in the southern province of Daraa, according to Syrian state-run media.
The media outlet said the Syrian army raised the Syrian flag over the Nasib crossing, which is in the southeastern countryside of Daraa on the outskirts of a town under the same name.
Activists said Syrian police reached the crossing, which the Syrian army lost to rebels in 2015.
The Syrian army has been on a wide-scale offensive in Daraa over the past two weeks, managing recently to retake several border posts with Jordan before capturing the official Nasib crossing on Friday.
