China Media Group (CMG) on Thursday (local time) presented cultural products as gifts to teachers and students at Convitto Nazionale di Roma, an Italian boarding school.
The gifts include more than 10 sets of excellent Chinese movie/TV programs, including the documentary "Every Treasure Tells a Story" and the multimedia cultural promotion program "Bonjour, la Chine," as well as some Chinese-language books.
Shen Haixiong, the president of CMG, joined a meeting with the teachers and students in the school. Several students, in fluent Chinese, recalled writing a letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping earlier this week and how joyful they felt after receiving a reply.
Xi's reply encouraged the students to be the "Marco Polos" of the new era by promoting Chinese-Italian cultural exchanges.

All students showed an intense interest in Chinese culture at the event, especially after watching CMG programs like "Every Treasure Tells a Story" and "The Kung Fu Shaolin."
Shen spoke highly of the efforts the school has made in promoting Chinese culture and fostering "Marco Polos" in a new era. CMG is willing to provide platforms and channels for the students to learn Chinese and Chinese culture by holding summer camps and producing relevant TV programs, he said.
The headmaster noted the reply letter from President Xi was a great encouragement for the students. For Chinese teaching in the future, the school will expand communication between the two sides to let more children fall in love with Chinese culture.
Convitto Nazionale di Roma is a prestigious school in Italy. In 2009, it opened a five-year Chinese international science high school. It has been a custom to learn Chinese and Chinese culture here.
Shen also met with Alberto Ortolani, the chairman of the Italian Overseas Education Center and foreign headmaster of the CMG Confucius Radio Room in Italy. The two sides agreed to expand cooperation and to build the Confucius Radio Room in Italy into an important platform in promoting the cultures of the two countries.
