The Chinese table tennis national team set its sights on three gold medals as it left for the 2019 World Table Tennis Championships in Budapest early Tuesday.
Loaded with a group of Olympic champions, world titlists and world cup winners, the team bus reached the airport before dawn after a crowd of fans saw the players off at their dormitory building.
Chinese Table Tennis chief Liu Guoliang discussed their goals at the Worlds.
"We are aiming for the men's singles, women's singles and mixed doubles titles at the World Championships, while striving for best possible results in the men's and women's doubles events," he said.
The 2019 World Table Tennis Championships will be held in Budapest, Hungary from April 21-28. Team China will head to Austria for one week of adaptive training before they make their way to Budapest.
