Papua New Guinea (PNG) has faced food security challenges for many years. On May 16, 2000, Chinese President Xi Jinping, then governor of southeast China’s Fujian Province, signed an agreement with PNG's Eastern Highlands Province on sharing fungi farming technology. Since then, the cooperation on fungi cultivation between China and PNG has yielded fruitful results.
