The London Symphony Orchestra (LSO), which first toured China in its centenary year of 2004, completed its sixth tour of the country last February and will return in the coming week to bring another audiovisual feast to the Chinese audience.
The LSO is scheduled to perform at China's main theater, the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA), on the evening of June 21 in Beijing.
The orchestra, led by world-renowned conductor Gianandrea Noseda, who also serves as principal guest conductor of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, principal conductor of the Orquestra de Cadaqués, and artistic director of the Stresa Festival in Italy, will play "The Noonday Witch, Op. 108" by Czech composer Antonin Dvorak, and "Symphony No. 10 in E minor, Op. 93" by Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich.

It will also work with Yefim Bronfman, internationally recognized as one of today's most acclaimed and admired pianists, to bring "Piano Concerto No. 2 in A major" by Hungarian composer Franz Liszt to the audience.
The LSO, founded in 1904, gives 70 symphonic concerts every year as the resident orchestra at the Barbican Concert Hall in London and performs another 70 concerts when touring worldwide.
