Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) at the invitation of the DPRK's Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho, China's foreign ministry spokesperson announced on Monday.
Wang will pay the visit from May 2 to 3.
The trip comes after last Friday's historic summit between DPRK leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in and ahead of the planned meeting between Kim and US President Donald Trump in a few weeks.
The DPRK leader previously visited China in late March.
