April 23 marks World Book Day, an annual event designated by UNESCO to promote reading, publishing, and copyright. This year, anchors from the China Media Group will take you on a journey through the exquisite works of Shakespeare to explore the beauty of literature and language.
In the sixth episode, our special guest Chris Boobier reads "As You Like It," Act 2, Scene 7. The play is a pastoral comedy by William Shakespeare believed to have been written in 1599 and first published in the First Folio in 1623. The play follows Rosalind, who flees persecution in her uncle's court, accompanied by her cousin Celia to find safety and, eventually, love, in the Forest of Arden.
Chris Boobier is the Head of the Chevening Awards Program at the British Embassy in Beijing – the UK Government's flagship scholarship scheme for future global leaders.
