Jiuzhaigou, which means the Nine Villages Valley, is a popular tourist destination, noted for its beautiful natural scenery and historic interest. The beauty of its water attractions is considered the first in China.  The quake has changed that. Huo-hua-hai, or Fire Flower Lake, is the most severely damaged spot. It was a lake with blue water, surrounded by green plants, often compared to jade.  Now water flows away from a crack under the lake. Nuo-ri-lang Waterfall was once the widest in China, some 300 meters across.  The flow has dropped off considerably. Wu-hua-hai Lake was known for its range of colors.  With the damage to roads, the water becomes a blur.
