An urban transhumance was celebrating its 10th anniversary on the last weekend in Bordeaux, southwestern France. Organized by communes in Bordeaux, Blanquefort as well as Begles, a thousand sheep from seven farms traveled over 30 kilometers across the Bordeaux metropolis from north to south. /VCG Photo

The event kicked off on Friday with a launch party at La Vacherie, a commune in northern France. Shortly after 8 am the next morning, the flock left Blanquefort and headed to Bordeaux. /VCG Photo

The parade, even though bringing difficulties to local traffic, was an opportunity for people to get close to the sheep and talk with their breeders. /VCG Photo
