Chinese authorities recently approved a master plan for the Xiongan New Area. The area will take over some of the non-capital functions from Beijing. A state-level new area, Xiongan New Area is located 100 km southwest of Beijing. Established last year, it will serve as a development hub for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei economic triangle.
