Hulunbuir is a prefecture-level city located in the northeastern Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China.
The city prioritizes ecological and green development and relies on the construction of cultural and tourism projects to extend the area of tourism value as well as the time span for travelers to visit.
The most prominent tourist site the city owns is the vast Hulunbuir Grassland (see cover photo). Located in the northeast of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, it is named after Hulun and Buir Lakes. Hulunbuir Grassland covers an area of about 100,000 square meters, with 80 percent of natural grassland coverage.
This year, the local government will be investing in renovating the city's historical museum, the museum for local ethnic groups, as well as the local Wulanmuqi Theatre. Funding will also go to forest areas through which tourists can get a peek of the beautiful forestry on the train.
