Uber released a new “Flying Taxi” prototype on Tuesday, describing it as the future of transportation. The cross between a helicopter and a drone is officially called an electric vertical take-off and landing vehicle concept (eVTOL) by Uber. The all-electric flying machine can achieve speeds of over 300km/h and has a range of 100km on a single battery charge. Uber has the first demonstration flights for Los Angeles planned for 2020 and wants commercialization of the flying taxis by 2023.
