The Dallas Mavericks have signed two-time CBA domestic MVP Ding Yanyuhang to a contract.
The terms and value of the deal for the Chinese standout have not yet been released, but Ding will join their autumn training camp so he can play for Dallas against the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA China Games in Shanghai and Shenzhen on Oct. 5 and 8.

24-year-old Ding earned the Domestic MVP title in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) the past two seasons, averaging 26.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game last season for Shandong.
Last summer, he played with the Mavericks summer league team and impressed with his all-around game. Many thought he was close to getting a deal last year, and now that has come to fruition. The 6-foot-7, 200-pound Chinese is a versatile player, who could play either guard or small-forward.
Stephon Marbury, a former CBA international player with the Beijing Shougang Ducks, quickly responded to Ding's signing with the Mavericks by congratulating him on China's Weibo social media platform.
"Right where you belong! So happy for you," Marbury wrote and posted a screenshot photo showing the news of Ding's move.
The most successful US basketball player in China seemed to encouraged Ding to help him spread "love and peace in China, America and all over the world," as stated in Marbury's weibo posts.
Marbury received his Chinese permanent residence card in April 2016, following his eight-year career in China, during which he won three CBA championships with his Beijing team in 2012, 2014, and 2015 respectively. He retired last season and continued his life in Beijing by coaching a middle school basketball team in the capital. This is in line with his words that "he can not only help win more championships but continue to bring positive energy" here in China.
