The trade talks between China and the U.S. will proceed to the next step as scheduled after the latest vice-ministerial level negotiations concluded on Wednesday, spokesperson of China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) Gao Feng said at a briefing on Thursday.
Both sides had extensive, in-depth and detailed exchanges, and agreed to address issues of common concern, said the spokesperson. Progress was made on structural issues, the main concern of the latest negotiation, laying a foundation for the two to solve problems and boost mutual understanding, continued Gao.
The prolonged talks demonstrated the commitment of the two sides in implementing the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, said Gao.
