In the ongoing Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) League, Guangsha Lions registered a thumping 110-93 victory over Beijing Ducks in their own backyard on Thursday night.
Guangsha had passed Beijing to climb up to the fourth place after their last outing and had a chance to extend their lead in the standings over the three-time champions. Much to the delight of the home fans, they did so as the Lions made 19 steals in the game. Interestingly, the same number of points was scored by Lin Zhijie in his side's solid victory.
Earlier, towards the end of the first quarter, Beijing turned it over and Courtney Fortson carried it up the court before setting up Li Bin for a triple which made it 28-18 for Guangsha.
The Lions had six threes in the first quarter while the tourists were 0 for four from a distance.

However, with four and a half minutes to go for the end of the second quarter, Zhai Xiaochuan made a fine pass to Justin Hamilton for the lay-up plus a foul.
Tied at 50 early in the third, Ioannis Bourousis put Guangsha back on top. Then Fortson fed Li, and his corner three gave the Lions a six-point lead.
In the Fourth quarter, Fortson stole a terrible pass as Lin found Zhao Yanhao in the corner. He didn't make any mistake to connect and made it 82-72 for Guangsha.
With 45 five seconds left, Fortson briefly lost the ball, but passed to Lin who spun and hit a fade-away jumper. That helped Guangsha wrap up a 110-93 win.
In other games, Joseph Young scored 50 points for Nanjing who still lost to Tianjin, Shen Zijie collected 25 points to help Shenzhen pick up their 5th win in a row, Shanxi overcame Qingdao thanks to 25 points and 10 rebounds from Shabazz Muhammad, Shirelijan Muhtar made six three-pointers in the fourth quarter in Xinjiang's win over Guangzhou.
